Repurposed Program

WHAT IS THE ISSUE?

Years of experience has taught us that sometimes orders arrive differently than expected, thus failing to meet brand standards and making the items unusable by our clients. Although we understand the importance of effective brand management, we are left with items that didn’t pass the test due to logo or decoration issues, product impairments, and sometimes even shipping delays. Within our industry, it isn't uncommon to see distributors toss these orders away to move on to the next project. Luckily we are beginning to see an increase in companies choosing to donate to great causes instead of filling our landfills. Still, the unfortunate side effect of this for clients is brand misrepresentation. This occurs because client logos are being distributed and seen by consumers in manners that don't necessarily align with their brands.

Since the beginning of the HIVE we have asked ourselves what can we do to avoid this and how do we take these unavoidable and negative moments and make them have a positive impact?

WHAT IS OUR GOAL?

Initially we will do everything in our power to ensure that all orders are correct, but in those rare instances where errors are unavoidable we wanted to come up with a solution that not only satisfies a zero-waste initiative but also protects our clients’ brands, and supports our community.

WHAT IS OUR SOLUTION?

Our team has created the HIVE’s Repurposed Program as a way to combat this industry-wide issue and to meet our goals.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  1. After offering alternative solutions to our clients where they are still able to utilize the products (even if not in the way of their original intentions) we take the items back.

  2. We will have the client logo removed (when possible) then proceed to cover the damaged area (or unremovable logos) with the HIVE Repurposed logo. This will protect our clients’ from the misuse and misrepresentation of their brands.

  3. After the items have been rebranded, we will connect with amazing charities and non-profit organizations to donate the appropriate items to them to be used at their own discretion - see below ‘WHO ARE THE ITEMS FOR?’ section for more details.

  4. For items that come damaged beyond repair we will appropriately recycle the materials.

CAN CLIENTS GET INVOLVED?

Absolutely! We have sponsorship opportunities:

  • Direct Sponsorship: Help cover costs to rebrand items with the HIVE Repurposed logo and transportation to organizations who support our community’s people in need.

  • Project Sponsorship:  Help cover costs and we will co-brand the products with your logo then donate them to a community or organization of your choosing. Our Repurposed logo alongside yours will communicate that your company actively avoided waste and gave back.

WHO ARE THE ITEMS FOR?

We want to support the incredible, selfless and compassionate organizations in our community (or our clients’ communities). These items are for charities, non-profit organizations, community events, and other socially responsible entities. Please reach out if your organization is interested in working with us through our program.
